5 Father’s Day Gift Ideas They’ll Love

It’s almost Father’s Day!  I love celebrating my wonderful father and my husband, who are both outstanding dads. However, I tend to struggle with what to get them every year. In general, men can be challenging to buy for. With Mothers Day, I often feel it’s easy to find things I know my mom will love. However, when it comes to Fathers Day and my dad or husband, it’s hard to find something they will like. Especially something that they don’t already have, and that’s not going to break the bank!

The past few years, I’ve tried to pay more attention throughout the year to the things both my husband and dad seem to be interested in and how those can translate into gifts.

I’ve put together a list of gift ideas that I’ve already tested out with my husband that he has loved and has actually used!

Without further ado, here are my top “tried and true” gift ideas for Fathers Day!

  1. Slingshot Rental

I did an early Fathers Day gift this year because I knew Fathers Day weekend would be busy. So I partnered withDFW Slingshot rentals on a weekend rental for my husband. I made sure he cleared his calendar and surprised him with this fantastic ride.

It was an unconventional gift that he was able to enjoy right away. I told him I would take care of the boys while he had the opportunity to joy ride around town. He loved it!

For the evening, I got a babysitter and made reservations at his favorite steakhouse, Del Friscos Double Eagle Steakhouse. This gave us an excellent opportunity to enjoy riding around Legacy West in Plano on a beautiful night. Check out the video below of me surprising him!

I feel like I earned cool wife points with this one!

2. Melin™ Hydro Hat

For my husband’s birthday last year, I got him a Melin™ Hydro Hat. This would equally make a great Fathers Day gift for either your dad or husband. It’s one of my husband’s favorite hats, and he still wears it today. These caps are great for athletes or just busy dads in general. They are perfect for summer because of the cooling effect in the back of the hat, and they are waterproof.

In addition, Melin recently launched a new neon collection. So if the father in your life has a heart for throwback, I would highly recommend checking out the new line. You can check out my full Melin™ Hydro Hat Review Here.

3. Whiskey Barrel Rings

This is the perfect gift for the whiskey/bourbon lover in your life. My husband collects different bourbons, and I found them online Whiskey Barrel Rings. It’s a husband and wife team out of Orange County, California, making custom rings made out of recycled whiskey barrel wood from distilleries across the US. For our 7th anniversary, I got him a unique whiskey barrel ring inset with a copper layer to represent our 7th year. They have hundreds of styles that make it the perfect men’s gift for any occasion and even some styles that are “quick ship.”

4. Engraved Pocket Knife with Light

This little gem I found on Etsy. Another anniversary gift, but perfect for Fathers Day. It’s not a regular pocket knife. Instead, it’s got a real cool/bad boy look to it, and you can get it engraved with their name, a phrase or saying, and the date.

My husband often carries it around, and I notice him pulling it out when working on various odd jobs. It makes me happy to see him use it so frequently.

5. Fast Food Gift Cards

While I mentioned at the beginning of this post that men can certainly be very challenging to buy for, one of the things I love about them is how simple they can be to please, and food definitely goes a long way! One of the great things about Fast Food Gift Cards, unlike restaurant gift cards, is that they can use them any time. They don’t have to wait for a family night out or date night to enjoy their favorite fast food.

I’m often surprised at how pleased both my dad and husband can be with a gift card to somewhere they can easily pick up lunch. I guess it’s akin to my personal love for Starbucks gift cards! Lol. The other great thing about them is that $20-$25 can usually get you a couple of decent meals.

This year I’m getting my own dad a gift card to Popeyes. While it may not sound glamorous, he enjoys it, and I know he will appreciate it a lot more than a keepsake.

What have been some of the Fathers Day gifts you’ve given your dad or husband that they absolutely loved? I’d love to hear your ideas, and if you use any of these, please contact me and let me know if they love their gift!
